Christmas Pyramid

Design for Manufacture - Spring 2011

Modern day Christmas pyramids are typically artisan works, made of wood and based on four to eight sided platforms with a long pole in the middle serving as the axle to which the entire structure tapers above and which supports any other platforms. At the top of the pyramid is a propeller which turns due to the heat produced by candles at the base of the pyramid. The propeller spins the axle which is typically attached to some kind of carousel with typically Christian motifs such as angels or manger scenes.
